Stepping in to a yoga studio for the first time can feel quite intimidating for many of us. It’s very easy to compare yourself with others, often in an unfavourable way, which is the last thing that should happen in a yoga class. The beginners course is designed to teach you the foundations of yoga so that when you step on to the mat you do so with a good understanding of the principles of yoga. The course is suitable for everyone, so whether you are an absolute beginner or have been practising for sometime and want to take your practice a little deeper then this is the course for you,

Structured over 5 weeks for 1.5 hours per session, you will learn the fundamentals of yoga and build your confidence in establishing and integrating a regular yoga practice in to your routine. We will explore the physical aspects of yoga as well as an introduction to yoga philosophy.

Topics covered include:

Asana (poses) Standing postures Backbends Forward Folds Inversions Twists

 

Pranayama (Breathing) Ujayi Yogi Breath Nadi Shodhana

 

Philosophy Patanjali’s Eight Limbs of Yoga

 

This course is suitable for both beginners and those with an establish practice who want to work on postural alignment and explore yoga beyond asana.
