We teach yoga. Yoga is a complete practice incorporating body, mind and spirit. The term yoga actually means to yoke or connect and through regular practice we become better connected with ourselves as well as those around us.

Is to share the teaching and wisdom of our teachers and our teacher’s, teachers to our beautiful community in Mentone and surrounds. Everyone is welcome regardless of experience, age, gender, shape, religion or fitness levels. At soul seed yoga we teach a range of styles from the fast and dynamic to the calm and slow. Our lovely Shala is a safe place for you to explore your potential and move beyond perceived limitations. Beautifully polished natural wooden floors, a neutral palette and an abundance of natural light provides a wonderful haven for you to connect with your practice.

 

Our Teachers

All our teachers at soul seed yoga have extensive training and teaching experience in a range of yoga styles. We each bring our own unique set of skills and way of teaching to our common goal of sharing the benefits of yoga to the Mentone community and beyond. Our extensive knowledge of yoga philosophy lays at the heart of our practice and we ensure integrity and trust is an integral part of our teaching.

 

FAQ’s

Q. I’m new to yoga, so which classes should I attend?

A. All of our teachers are highly skilled and teach to a variety of levels in all classes. Please inform the teacher if you are new to yoga, so that they can provide modifications if required. We also run regular beginners courses which is a great way to learn the fundamentals of yoga to prepare you for more challenging classes.

Q. I’m not very flexible so is yoga right for me?

A. There is a frustrating myth that you you need to be bendy to practice yoga. Yes, with continued practice you will notice an improvement in strength and flexibility however it is your presence that counts. Showing up, connecting with yourself and breathing is yoga. One of our favourite yoga quotes is “Yoga is not about touching your toes it is what you learn on the way own there”.

Q. How do I book in?

A. We use Classfit booking software, which enables you to book in and reserve your mat online. Simple click on our booking page, select your class and you will be directed to make payment. Alternatively, you can pay and book in studio.

Q. What do I need to bring?

A. Bring your own mat if you have one, otherwise we have studio mats available. For Yin and Restorative classes please bring a small towel to cover bolsters.

Q. When should I arrive?

A. Studio doors will open 15 mins before class and we suggest you arrive 5-10 mins before class starts. The studio doors will be locked once the class starts so unfortunately there will be no access for latecomers. We ask you leave promptly after class to avoid crossover with next class.

Q. Do you provide hands-on assists?

A. Yes, we do provide hands on assists to deepen your pose or to correct postural alignment but only if you are comfortable with us doing so. We will sanitise our hands after each assist.

Q. What are you doing to remain Covid-19 safe?

A. The studio and especially all high touch areas are cleaned regularly throughout the day and there is abundant hand sanitizer, soap and tissues around the studio. Class times are schedule to avoid crossover between classes and ask that you leave promptly after class. Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell.

Q.Where are you located and is parking available?

A. We are located on the first floor at 137B Mentone Parade opposite Just Italy Mentone and diagonally across from Mentone Station. Please come up the stairs and the studio is the first door on the left. There is abundant council car parking off Florence Street near Coles and Chemist Warehouse.
