Returning to Self

Returning to Self is a somatic yoga series designed to support regulation, sustainability, and embodied choice. Across the series, each workshop offers a different entry point into understanding how we support ourselves, first by internal steadiness and ease, then by exploring alignment and movement patterns that can be maintained over time. Together, the workshops invite a slower, more responsive way of practising that honours the nervous system, supports the body, and builds capacity for everyday life. Each workshop can be attended as a standalone experience or as part of the full series.

An Alignment Yoga Workshop for Sustainable Practices

Alignment is not about achieving ideal shapes, it’s about organising the body in ways that are supportive, efficient, and sustainable over time.

This  2.5 hour workshop explores functional alignment through a somatic lens, supporting participants to understand how movement patterns, transitions, and repetition affect both the body and your nervous system. We’ll work with key postures and flows, including Sun Salutations A & B, to explore how they can be adapted to different bodies, needs, and stages of life.

The focus is on creating practices that are sustainable, movements you can return to again and again without strain, injury, or burnout. Through slow exploration and guided inquiry, you’ll learn how to make choices that support strength, ease, and longevity, both on and off the mat.

This workshop builds naturally on the themes of Somatic Practices for Everyday Life though it can be attended as a standalone experience.

Suitable for all levels, including those wanting to refine their practice, move more confidently, or develop a more sustainable relationship with movement.
